What is my design process?

1. Discovery - gathering data
The first thing I do for new projects or features is start with a discovery phase. The objective of this phase is to understand the problem / opportunity. This involves research, market analysis, or user interviews. This is the information gathering stage, and we cast the net wide.

2. Define - filtering the data
In the second phase we are filtering down the data we previously gathered. Defining user personas, wireframes, user journeys, and some storyboards. The goal of this stage is to identify where you're going to go. In this stage I like to bring in stakeholders and engineers for feedback and signoff.

3. Develop - start to design
The 3rd stage marks the beginning of design, utilizing the information from the previous two phases, design and cross functional partners can heavily collaborate during this phase. Lo-fi designs, user testing, prototypes and hi-fi designs come out of this phase with a wide net to solve the main user pain points. Design signoff also needs to happen to prep us for the final phase, Deliver.

4. Deliver - prepping for hand off
The final stage in double diamond is the deliver phase. I like to deliver any prototypes and designs specced out in Figma for our engineers. Designs should be tested and approved. Once engineering has built out the designs additional QA testing will take place, making sure the specs are followed with my pixel perfect eyes.
